It's clear that I won- Pacquiao

The victory of Manny Pacquiao over Juan Manuel Marquez was a controversial issue both here in abroad. In fact, in ABS-CBN's poll report last night, November 14, Monday, 51 % of Filipino text voters were in favor of his victory while 49% Filipino voters were uncertain of his win over Marquez. However, based on the result 0f CompuBox Punch Stat report, it has been made official that Pacquio won the fight. Meanwhile, Marquez and his camp believes that he should have won the fight as what the audience have seen in his performance during the fight. "We won. Like the people was singing on the 12th round, yes we won, yes we won..only the three people there didn't see the same thing" said Marquez. Moments after the fight, the Mexican boxer also stated with dismay that he refuses to accept the money because he wants the belt. "We have to accept that's a part of the game, and the fight is close but its very clear that I won the fight even if they're gonna watch the replay, this is the sport," Pacquiao said. Meanwhile, some boxing analysts were also divided in their beliefs regarding the result of the Pacquio-Marquez trilogy. " I thought that Marquez made it very very difficult for Manny to gauge distances, I think Manny was a little indecisive on what to do, I thought that he was thrown off," said boxing analyst, Lem Satterfield. Another analyst also said that the recent fight was not the best fight of Pacquiao. In a controversial fight like this, the result of the CompoBox Punch Stat report is being taken consideration to distinguish the the performance of the boxers, and learn who really won the fight. Based on the stat results, it was learned that Manny was the most active in the whole bout. On the average punch count, Pacquiao had 49 punches per round while Marquez only had 36. With the total number of punches, Pacquiao had 578 and 176 punches landed on the opponent, Marquez had 436 punches with only 138 landing punches. With the overall power punches executed, Pacquiao's record also showed the greatest with 49% power punches over Marquez's 39%. Based on the numbers, and the rules and criteria of professional boxing, it is clear that Manny Pacquiao is the rightful winner although it is true that it was a close fight and Marquez showed a great improvement and strength in his final attempt to get the title of WBO welterweight champion from Manny "pacman" Pacquiao.
